Photograph of King George and Queen Mary
King George and Queen Mary's visit to the factory at Gretna in 1917. The postcard has a sepia photograph of the King and Queen meeting a worker. It is one of a series of postcards produced in aid of Eastriggs and Gretna Heritage Group.
The King is in uniform and is saluting someone to the right. The Queen wears a long dark coat, a hat with a feather and carries a bouquet of flowers. The worker wears loose fitting jacket and trousers and wears a head cover similar to a 'mob cap'.
